Important Information Regarding Salem Woods Pool in 2012
Dear community,
In advance of 2012 Feb Board Meeting, I have directed that no further funds will be allocated to pool operations or facility maintenance. Rationale follows.We must face a harsh reality regarding the pool property in Salem Woods. Each year we experience significant budget deficit in offering the pool as a service to the community. 2011 pool membership was at historic low of only 45 families which grossly underfunded operations and maintenance costs. In addition to the normal startup costs, we also face an additional recapitalization cost for broken furniture and a Heating\AC system that failed this month.In 2005, we $150,000 in savings; today, we have $47,000. --> The pool property is the issue bleeding us towards bankruptcy. We have tried mightily but cannot seem to muster membership to sustain the pool property.
In advance of Feb Board Meeting I directed that effective immediately SWCA will (1) suspend all maintenance and facility costs with pool operations and (2) not open for 2012 season.
In Feb we will discuss a new direction for SWCA and the Salem Woods community we serve. As with all Board meetings, we encourage you to attend. We also encourage a dialouge via email and Face Book. Clubhouse Rentals

The Clubhouse is available for rental. There is a small kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and sink available as well as about 16 chairs and 2 or 3 long tables. It has been repainted and floor has been refurbished. The large room will be closed off from the hallway for more private rentals. Concessions will be housed in the old closet/changing room in the outdoor breezeway by the showers. One free clubhouse rental per year is available to those who have paid their $60 SWCA dues for the year. Non-residents/non swca memb
