SALEM WOODS CIVIC ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING
7/6/09
The Board Meeting of the Salem Woods Civic Association was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President
Kirk Traber with the following Board members present: Sean Butcher, Scott Kittell, Doris Meixel,
Dustin Sievers, and Skip Heyman. Swim Team President Christine Ward was also present.
Heidi Rosen left a proxy for voting purposes as she was out of town. Kathy Toll was also out-oftown.
Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.
New Business:
Vice President:
Sean Butcher was introduced as the new VP and is busy collecting information on the
responsibilities of his new position. He will soon be posting an introductory page on our
website.
Neighborhood Watch
Skip Heyman is busy learning the job of Neighborhood Watch and the capabilities that the
website email system has to better both Neighborhood Watch and the community. Kirk
mentioned that we could also use the NW program for an emergency notification system for
things such as Amber alerts, hurricane alerts, disturbances or other pertinent notifications that the
entire community might want to know about. Skip will canvas the NW participants for a
consensus. He volunteered his tax exempt number for concession purchases.
Webmaster
Dustin Sievers went over a few more things on the web and CiviCRM and would like to have
feedback from the board on changes we would like to see, or if everything is working. He also
showed how there are things set up that show membership information on a map which will help
Skip with the Neighborhood Watch set-up and management.
Facilities
Scott Kittell brought up new pool membership pricing. The Board voted on the pricing and
everyone concurred. Salem Woods will now offer a monthly family pass for $125 plus SWCA
dues. The rate for non-residents will be $175.00. Pro-rated memberships for the remainder of
the summer will be 20% off the current fees, plus the SWCA dues, or for Non-resident Associate
members 20% off the current fees plus $50. See new prorated pricing below on next page:
