SALEM WOODS CIVIC ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING
6/8/09

The Board Meeting of the Salem Woods Civic Association was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by
President Kirk Traber with the following Board members present: Scott Kittell, Heidi Rosen,
Wayne Barnett and Eileen Beckert, Pete Leavitt, & Doris Meixel. Non-Board members
Belinda Traber and Kathy Toll were also in attendance.

Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.

New Business: President, Kirk Traber opened the meeting with some thoughts on
possibly extending the pool season until late September. Two new people were voted
onto the Board via an email vote. They are Sean Butcher for Vice President, and Skip
Heyman for Neighborhood Watch. Scott Kittell will be taking over for Wayne Barnett in
charge of Facilities. Wayne is moving to Gloucester at the end of June. Thanks Wayne
for your help with facilities! We are in need of a fundraising volunteer, a Board
Secretary and Spirit person. Right now Belinda Traber is stepping in to help with Spirit,
and Kathy Toll is standing in as Secretary.

Facilities, Wayne Barnett/ Scott Kittell:

We had a complaint about a possible near drowning. The member was rescued by a
lifeguard. This will be taken very seriously and will be discussed at a lifeguard training
mtg. on June 9th.

Discussion on updates to the clubhouse. Scott brought in concrete paint colors. Cushions
on the couch are ripped and are in need of repair.
Swim lessons: Beki Moke will be doing swim lessons. Pricing to be worked out.
Discussion on who pays for the lifeguards at the swim meets, does SWCA or the Swim
Team? Further discussion needed.

Spirit - Belinda Traber:

We had a small turnout for the Bubba’s event on May 30th. Pool was not open, due to
clarity issues. We will try again, the food was excellent! A Salem Woods Craft show is
planned for Oct. 17th to be held at the SWCA office location outside. Tables will be $15
for SWCA members and $20 for non-swca members.

Welcome, Doris Meixel:

Doris has welcomed several new members in the neighborhood. She is busy collecting
local business and city information, coupon books to put in the welcome packets. If
anyone hears of new renters in the neighborhood, please pass to Doris.
