SALEM WOODS CIVIC ASSOCIATION ANNUAL BOARD MEETING
11/6/08
 
The Annual Board Meeting of the Salem Woods Civic Association was
called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Barry Ezell with the following
board members present: Barry Ezell, Jim and Maureen Newton, Doris
Meixel, Heidi Rosen, Sarah Ezell and Eileen Beckert and Wayne Barnett.
The following SWCA members were also present: Jim Bayley, John and
Chris Byzewski, Kirk and Belinda Traber, Beth Von St. Paul, Rita Bellitto,
Eric DeGroff, Russ and Ginger Scherck and Victoria Gagliano.
 
President, Barry Ezell moved that the minutes from the last meeting be
approved. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.
 
Old Business: There was no old business to discuss.
 
New Business: The following fees were approved for 2009:
 
SWCA dues $60; Family pool fees $300; Single senior pool membership
$100; Senior Couple pool membership $175; Single Adult pool
membership $175; Non-resident pool & recreation fee $350; Swim team
associate membership for single Salem Woods resident $50, more than 2
children $100 - both require payment of SWCA dues; Swim team associate
membership for non-residents each child $60.
 
The following people have been voted onto the Board of Directors for 2009:
Sarah Ezell, Heidi Rosen, Pete Leavitt, Doris Meixel, Wayne Barnett, Dustin
Seivers and Scott Kittell. In addition, Kirk Traber was appointed and voted
onto the Board for 2009.
 
Verification of quorum: 14 member households were present to vote and
more 32 proxies have been received. Therefore, forty- six SWCA members
have voted, which is fifteen percent of the membership meeting the ten
percent quorum required.
 
Dr. Barry Ezell discussed the need for conversion to an HOA. For the last
10 years SWCA has spent more than it has taken in, being short by 4 – 5 K
per year. With only 290 SWCA members joining each year we cannot
balance the budget. The plan is for SWCA to gradually turn over each
section of Salem Woods as the homes in that section reach the 30 year mark
