Salem Woods Civic Association Board Meeting
6/5/08
The Board Meeting of the Salem Woods Civic Association was called to order by
President Dr. Barry Ezell on June 3, 2008 at 7:07 p.m.
Board Members present included Dr. Barry Ezell, Heidi Rosen, Jim Newton, Sarah Ezell,
Theresa DeRubeis, Bill Pully, Doris Meixel and Dustin Sievers. Office Manager Kathy
Toll was also present.
Dr. Ezell moved that the minutes from the May meeting be approved. The motion was
seconded, and the motion carried.
Old Business: There was nothing further to discuss.
New Business:
1. President Barry Ezell introduced Dustin Sievers as our new webmaster. The board
members were shown a beautiful new website front page for our Salem Woods
website. There were motions to approve & second Dustin as a new board member.
2. Doris Meixel has volunteered to serve as Welcome Committee chairperson. She was
welcomed by the board. Francesca Ketchum will be helping her welcome new
residents to Salem Woods.
3. Wayne, from Sandler & Sons will have to meet with the Board another time to discuss
plans for the park transformation on Revere Dr., due to the arrival of a new baby.
4. Barry requested that Board members tell him their vacation dates for the summer.
5. The budget, cash flow and the future of the large pool and SWCA properties was
discussed. Topics included the receipt and pricing of mandatory dues when
conversion of the different sections of the neighborhood is possible, past and present
price structuring of pool/SWCA fees, how to get more residents involved and
interested in paying membership /pool fees and the demographics of our
neighborhood.
6. All Board Members to notify Heidi Rosen, Vice President, with one idea as to how we
can bring in more membership in the future.
Treasurer/Facilities Update:
1. May Budget – Total inflows: $10,073.26 from SWCA dues, various pool and Assoc.
Swim team memberships and newsletter ads. Total outflows: $5,782.99 from
