The mission of the SWCA is threefold: first, to preserve the quality of our neighborhood; second, to keep the community informed on those issues that impact us; and third, to be an advocate for the community’s position on those issues with local and state Government. To this end your civic association’s effort on behalf of the Salem Woods residences includes, but is not limited to the following tasks.
To sustain the quality of our neighborhood the SWCA:
- Operates an active Neighborhood Watch program
- Maintains the community entrances and common area
- Informs new residence of the covenants that apply to their homes
- Ensures residences are aware of the local regulations that apply to our neighborhood and supports community organizations to include the PTA, local schools, Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts.
To keep the community informed the SWCA:
- Monitors local Government activity to learn about issues that pertain to us
- Publishes the Salem Woods newsletter
- Conducts monthly General Meetings
- Operates a community web site.
To advocate for the community the SWCA:
- Maintains an active relationship with local and state Government
- Coordinates with Government to resolve zoning, traffic, and home business violations
- Participates on Government task forces that address the issues that concern us
- Coordinates with other citizen associations on common issues
- Informs our elected officials of the community’s position on the issues
